James John Austin), James Aitken Austin is listed as a 'coach smith' - while at the time of his son's marriage he is listed as a 'blacksmith.'
Witnesses to the marriage of James Aitken Austin and Mary Maria Scarfe were Henry Scarfe (a brother, or her father, whose name was certainly Henry - a cabinet maker) and Ann Jane Austin, who was likely the mother of James. They were married after the due publication of banns. Christ Church, Marylebone, is part of Christ Church parish. It is just n. of Marylebone Road on what was then Stafford Street, but is now called Cosway Street.
