John Oakes
John Oakes was born about 1700, perhaps in Yaxley, Suffolk, England. He was the son of Nathaniel Oakes (b 1669) and Elizabeth Unknown. John's wife was Mary Sawyer, born in Suffolk in 1700 - died May 1762, Yaxley, Suffolk, England. They were married at St. Mary's, Yaxley on the 29th of January 1729.
Their children were:
1. Robert Oakes - christened 1731, Yaxley, Suffolk - died young
2. Robert Oakes - christened 18 September, 1734, at Yaxley, Suffolk. He married Mary Mounser, 30 May, 1757, probably at Yaxley.
3. Richard Oakes - christened 3 July, 1737, at Yaxley, Suffolk. He married Elizabeth Mounser, at Yaxley in 1776. (My line of descent)
