George Buckett

George Buckett was born at Calbourne, Isle of Wight, around 1835, the son of Henry Buckett and Jane (Fanny) Hendy. He married Ann Brett (born ca 1836) on 21st April, 1856. The marriage is noted at the Register Office, Newport, Isle of Wight, but this may indicate they were married in a nonconformist church.

George was a bricklayer. In the 1841 Census - age 6; 1851 - age 16, son, bricklayer/labourer; 1861 Census (head, age 26); 1881 Census - 'mason,' age 47, Clay Lane, Shalfleet (PRO Ref RG11 Piece 1187; Folio 44; Page 5.

Ann, born at Ningwood, parish of Shalfleet, was the daughter of Isaac Brett and Hannah Richards.

Their children were:
