They were married on 28 January, 1882, in Liscombe, Guysborough County, Nova Scotia (one source says: 1881 Marie Joseph, Guysborough Co., NS). He was the son of Samuel Martin Meisner and Mary M. Fleet. John was born in 1860, in Marie Joseph, Guysborough County, Nova Scotia, and died November of 1931 in Stanhope, Prince Edward Island.

Mary Jane Laing (daughter of Daniel Laing and Mary Frances "Fanny" Baker) was born in 1863, in Nova Scotia. She died on 24 June 1899, Stanhope, PEI.

John Solomon Meisner and Mary Jane Laing were the parents of Aaron Kenny's direct ancestor, Abner Albert Meisner.
