Francis Wilson

Francis Wilson (son of Thomas Wilson and Elizabeth Oxley) was born 20 April, 1766, Egton, North Riding of Yorkshire. He married Elizabeth Harland on the 12th of March, 1799, in Danby in Cleveland. Francis died 10 May, 1850, Egton Grange, and is buried in the Egton Cemetery. Elizabeth was born ca 1778, Hinderwell (St. Hilda's Well), Yorkshire. She died 13 June, 1853, in Egton and is buried at Egton Cemetery. (Before her death, Elizabeth lived with her daughter Hannah (see below) who was living in Bridlington, Yorks. Elizabeth may in fact be buried elsewhere though her name is certainly on the gravestone of her husband, Francis, who is indeed buried in the old Egton cemetery.)

Francis farmed at Grange Farm, Howsyke (or Houlsyke). The Wilson family was living there at the time of the 1841 (Francis is 75, res. Egton - Elizabeth is aged 60) and 1851 Census, though the parents seem to have moved to Egton Grange, latterly.
