Elizabeth Green

Elizabeth (Betty) Green was born in August of 1836 and christened in Kirkbymoorside Parish, North Riding of Yorkshire, England on 5 October 1838. She was the daughter of James Green and Sarah Ward. Elizabeth died in 1920 and is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph, Ontario.

Elizabeth Green married Anthony Clarkson Dennis, 22 February 1858, at Kirkbymoorside, North Riding of Yorkshire. They raised James Green (b. 1853) in the North Riding of Yorkshire.

Rose - born 27 June 1880 - died 1969; 20 in 1901 Census - WELLINGTON South; 2nd wife of Gilbert Allen Pannabaker: issue - Eva (Dora Barber Roberts: "My mother was at Rose's funeral. Nellie had called for mother to come."

Emily - married William Long; res. Brantford, ON

Margaret - born 1892 - died 22 June 1926

At her wedding, Elizabeth was said to be from Moor End (nr. Gillamoor), Farndale, Yorks. Her father, James Green, is said to be a 'miner.' She was 20 at the time of her marriage; res. at Moor End. She and Anthony had 16 children. 2 in 1841 census. (HO107/1263 Book 6 Folio 47 Page2)

When the Dennis (Sr.) family arrived in Canada, they lived in Beeton, ON, in a barn (because there were so many children). Irene (Rene) Arriss was raised on a farm on the 10th line of E. Luther (14 mi. n. of Arthur), 200 acres. Pannabakers visited them there.
