Eber Rice

Eber Rice was born about 1789 in in Canada West, the son of Thomas Rice (1757 - 1861) and Mary Hartley (1759 - 1829). He married Elizabeth Moore.

Eber was an innkeeper (Census 1861), residing on Concession 8 Lot 3 (agricultural census - next to 'Simcoe Rice' on Lot 4). He had 100 acres, 60 of which were under cultivation in 1860. There were 4 acres orchard and 40 acres uncultivated forest.

Elizabeth died before 1861 and Ebur died in December of 1863 and was buried in the Fonthill, ON, Cemetery on 23 December, 1863.
